The design re-purposes an existing structure by using an additive and reductive language for new architectural features, and replaces almost all of the existing finishes. The result is an adaptable footprint that can accommodate the required number of tables and the varying urban parking layouts; expansion can be done over time and in phases with ease. Minimum 6’ clearances can be utilized for social distancing, or tighter spacing can be used if required. We wanted the dining experience to be private and still porous to take advantage of environmental and social benefits of dining al fresco in an urban environment.
